MEMORY OF MR. HALL

I knew Senor Hall through my junior and senior year with him.  My senior year I took Spanish II and that was most memorable for he treated each student with dignity and respect...not as a high school student but as a young adult.  Most teachers had the syllabus, taught, reviewed, examined but few like Senor Hall let the lesson "go as it will" yet successfully achieved the desired goal.  He cared for the student and sincerely listened.  I guess it's part of my maturing process, but looking back, he was a friend.  You didn't know or realize it because he was a "teacher" and he was "old" but when a re-assuring hand was needed...he was there.  I do remember it being placed on my shoulder several times and the situation was not as "catastrophic" as once believed.

I hope I can continue to learn from the lessons he informally gave every day and share them. Senor Hall characterized the poise and class of Lackland High School.

WHAT I AM DOING NOW

After graduating from Lackland, I attended Trinity University in San Antonio and graduated with a BS in Business Administration. It took me some time to determine I didn't like engineering. About a year afterwards, I entered the Air Force looking for excitement.  Well, the excitement they afforded put me in the cockpit as a navigator/radar navigator in the B-52.  (I must applaud Mrs. Lyon for navigating was easy due to her teaching Algebra I/II and Trig)  Anyway, my B-52 assignments took me from Ellsworth AFB (Rapid City, SD) to Anderson AFB (Guam) to Barksdale AFB (Shreveport, LA).

After leaving the B-52, I flew a desk at Langley AFB (Newport News, VA) working requirements for the B-52, B-1B and precision weapons.  From Langley I was re-assigned to my current location at Whiteman AFB (Knob Noster, MO).  Here, I worked systems supporting B-2 operations, performed liaison duties monitoring the execution of Northrop Grumman's local contract, and now test and evaluate B-2 enhancements/modifications.

I got married in 1983 to Colleen Couch who I met at Trinity.  We have two boys...Austin (13) and Sean (10).
