Melanie Maria (Misty) Dixon

Melanie Maria (Misty) Dixon, 34, of San Antonio, Texas, graduated from earth on the Lord’s Day, Sunday, Oct. 13th, 2002 and was received in heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She was born Oct. 25th, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, to Mel and Maria Dixon.

 

She is survived by her sons, Chase Pensom and Hunter Pensom; parents, Maria and James Weaver, all of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Matthew Ross Dixon and his wife Nelida of Vista, California and Christopher Weaver of San Antonio, Texas; aunt Wilma Dawson of Dallas, Texas; uncle, Frank Figueroa and his wife Sharon of Albuquerque, New Mexico; cousins, Maria Bellwood and her husband Mark of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Derek Figueroa of Denver, Colorado; and nephew, Noland Dixon of Vista, California.

 

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Armando Figueroa, and cousin, Adam Figueroa.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at G.W. Cox Memorial Funeral Chapel with Father Jim Fischler, C.I.C.M officiating.

 

Entombment will be at Del Rio Memorial Park, Del Rio, Texas.

 

Pallbearers will be Derek Figueroa, Fred Figueroa III, Jo Figueroa, Chris Eddie Aldrete, Carle Aldrete and James Aldrete.

 

Misty lived in Sulphur Springs, Texas from 1967 until 1972 and then lived in Del Rio from 1972 to 1977.  Her father passed away in 1976.  Misty moved to Frankfurt, Germany with her mother and brother, Matt, from 1977 until 1979.  The family then returned to Del Rio.  Her mother married James Weaver and the family then moved to San Antonio, Texas from 1982 until 1985 where Misty attended school at Randolph AFB and Lackland AFB.  Misty attended the University of Dayton from 1986 until 1988.  She then graduated from Baylor University and then she graduated from St. Mary’s School of Law in 2001.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
